Josh joined Murrays Partnership in 2020, as a Consultant Solicitor.

Josh previously worked as a Solicitor in the Crime Department of London law firm Hughmans Solicitors LLP. Josh is highly experienced in all aspects of case preparation in criminal law cases. He works closely with Peter Hughman whilst maintaining a caseload of his own.

His experience ranges from general crime to complex fraud cases. He has defended clients facing prosecution by the Crown Prosecution Service, the Financial Conduct Authority and the National Crime Agency.

R v H – 2018 - Human trafficking, prostitution for gain, false imprisonment and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice
In 2018 Josh successfully defended his client facing two counts of human trafficking, two counts of prostitution for gain, one count of false imprisonment and one count of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. With trial counsel, Josh prepared a detailed defence with several key witness statements taken to rebut and challenge the Complainant’s evidence. The jury acquitted on all counts. Trial counsel instructed was Mark Graffius of 2 Hare Court.
R v H – 2014 - Failure to lodge company accounts.
Josh successfully defended his client on two occasions of failure to lodge company accounts. He provided detailed representations to Companies House to ensure his client was not penalised. Avoiding a criminal conviction on both occasions was vital to his client’s interest in on-going civil proceedings and applying for residency in the UK from South Africa.
R v D - 2012-2013 - Supply of Class A drugs
Josh worked alongside Lee Adams in defending a client charged with the supply of Class A drugs. He conducted investigations in Essex where part of the alleged supply took place. He also provided comparisons on the manner in which the drugs were allegedly supplied. All of which would later be used to support the client’s account and lead to an acquittal. Trial counsel instructed was Anuerin Brewer of 9 Bedford Row.
R v O – Blackmail
Josh worked alongside Lee Adams in defending a client charged with blackmail. He assisted in detailed case preparation to advance the client’s interest. Notably, taking several statements of individuals connected to the investigation. This contributed to no evidence offered by the Prosecution before trial and the case discontinued.
